So how did your first playthrough go? Nov. play the game for yourself! This post is going on the Hall of Fame for being the first post that wasn't me. i won't spoil anything quite yet, since this IS supposed to just be an entry post into what's to come. there was also a wii and ds version, but nobody talks about those since the marketplaces there are long dead. so good infact, that Nicalis noticed Pixel's work and published it later as “cave story +,” which some people consider the definitive version. as for anyone who decides to check this post out, cave story, or “洞窟物語,” as it is called in japan, was a game made by Daisuke Amaya, or as his internet username goes, Pixel, as a passion project over the span of five years. in which case… People are seriously missing out about this game. I'm definitely really uncomfortable with the phrase "works for" though.SuperDoom wrote:Seriously, guys? What do you want? I've added a download link to the freeware version AND its patch, there's no excuse not to post.right…people probably just have no idea what cave story is. In the meantime I'll search for a good source too. I have Cave Story 3D, so I can check the credits if I can get hold of a 3DS. Antylamon □ 00:37, Ap(UTC) I've read that too, somewhere, but I don't remember the source. I'm not sure if that could be considered working for them, but it's definitely more than licensing Cave Story to them. Pixel wasn't ever employed by Nicalis, but he was involved in the development of some of the ports (Can't find the source atm iirc there was a CS3D interview which mentioned it). Random-storykeeper ( YELL AT IT) 09:50, Ap(UTC) Nicalis I think in the end they renamed it to Daisuke Amaya but I'm indifferent to the target title for the time being, as long as both are connected to each other. Well I guess approximately a year later reply is better than nothing. If you still want to rename it, I don't oppose. Random-storykeeper ( YELL AT IT) 19:33, Decem(UTC) I'm okay with renaming the article to "Pixel", but I don't think what Wikipedia's doing should be a factor in the decision. I wouldn't know I'm not familiar with Minecraft. It might depend on how the guy is credited in Minecraft (Cave Story credits "Pixel"). I find it odd that Pixel is referred to as Pixel on Wikipedia, but this Minecraft developer is not referred to as his pseudonym. Dzylon (Talk) 08:42/DecemUnder that logic of keeping consistency with Wikipedia, the page should be renamed 'Pixel' then, because that's the target title of the Wikipedia page (game developer omitted because there is no other title on this wiki that refers to another "Pixel"). You can agree that Notch (the developer of Minecraft) is currently far more notable than Pixel, right? And that his article(s) are receiving way more attention than Pixel's? Well, on both Wikipedia and the Minecraft Wiki, articles are given the title of his real name. (By the same, I mean rename this page to "Pixel", not with the parantheses.) - Random-storykeeper ( YELL AT IT) 01:14, Novem(UTC) I'm wondering whether this wiki should do the same, since he is credited as "Pixel" in Cave Story - at least in the titlescreen, and it seems to be the more well known name among English audiences. I notice Wikipedia's article points to "Pixel (game developer)" rather than "Daisuke Amaya".
